Full-Time or Part-Time Positions

Now Hiring: Landscape Designer

If you enjoy creating harmonious and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces and have training in landscape design, you may be the right candidate for us. Chiles Enterprises is searching for a full-time or part-time Landscape Designer to help envision, plan, and bring to life elegant exterior concepts. In this position, you will work with our clients to make their outdoor dreams a reality.

You will suggest where to place plants, hardscaping, and other features on a property as well as estimate and manage projects. While this position will regularly require you to be onsite to assist with work and direct Team Members, your primary role will rest in direct client communication.

Compensation

All company benefits (outlined below) are included for full-time positions alongside a negotiable, competitive starting salary and pay structure based upon experience.

There is room for income growth and career advancement based on performance. This position is open to full-time and part-time applicants and reports directly to the General Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients to specifically determine their desires.
  • Perform site assessments to determine soil conditions, lighting, view, and architectural style of the home in order to select optimal plants, trees, shrubs, accessories, or structures.
  • Draft an initial concept to present to client for their approval.
  • Create a final design using computer-aided design software (Dynascape/Sketch-Up) or through detailed and professional sketches.
  • Oversee the landscaping team and convey proper and thorough directions as they implement your concept.
  • Effectively communicate progress to the client and facilitate change order and upsell opportunities.
  • Keep records including costs, client communication, and supplies used on the project.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, landscape design, horticulture, or equivalent landscape design experience.
  • Knowledge of design concepts, irrigation techniques, and hardscaping.
  • An artistic understanding of color theory, texture, balance, and proportion.
  • Hard-working attitude with attention to detail and desire to complete tasks thoroughly.
  • Knowledge of horticulture and familiarity with types of plants and their ability to grow and thrive in our particular environment.
  • Knowledge of how ecological conditions, including harsh winters, can affect a proposed design.
  • Proficient in basic computer technology.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team.
  • Ability to develop a project budget, create a design within that budget, and track expenses to stay on budget.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and excellent personal safety record.

Now Hiring: Landscape Maintenance Technicians

Position to start in March 2023

If you enjoy working in flower beds, spending time outside, and creating and maintaining beautiful exterior spaces, you could be the candidate we’re looking for.

Chiles Enterprises is searching for full-time and part-time Landscape Maintenance Technicians to complete light-to-moderate landscape maintenance tasks. This could include pulling weeds, pruning or shaping small trees and shrubs, and other routine landscape maintenance. The candidate should feel comfortable working by themselves as well as with a team as both scenarios are probable.

We will provide a company vehicle for you to travel to and from job sites as well as haul equipment and debris.

Compensation

All company benefits (outlined below) are included alongside a competitive starting pay of $15.00-$19.00/hour depending upon experience. There is room for income growth based on performance. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday from 7:30AM-5:00PM.

We typically do not work on weekends; however, in the rare event of snow removal or natural disaster needs, weekend/evening hours may be required. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain gardens and lawns by mowing, trimming, pruning, raking, and weeding.
  • Safely and effectively apply treatments and fertilizers to outdoor areas.
  • Remove snow, ice, and leaves as needed.
  • Load and unload equipment and tools to and from work vehicles.
  • Plant new flowers, trees, grass, hedges, and bushes.
  • Ability to adequately follow written and verbal instructions from your Account Manager and complete your tasks to company expectations.
  • Desire to take pride in your work and the joy it brings to our customers.
  • Use the company app to record progress throughout the day.
  • Perform all tasks safely and thoroughly

Characteristics of Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Education, certifications, or previous training in landscape management.
  • Have experience working in a nursery or like environment and/or have a significant interest in landscaping and horticulture.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Full-Time Position

Now Hiring: Mowing Leader

Position to start in March 2023

Chiles Enterprises is searching for a responsible, organized, and detail-oriented candidate to supervise our Mowing Technicians. The candidate should have past managerial or supervisory skills and/or strong leadership skills and be prepared to passionately lead a team of mowing technicians to expertly maintain client lawns.

All company benefits listed below are included, plus a starting salary of $32,000 to $40,000 depending upon experience. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday from 7:30AM-5:00PM. Evening/weekend work may occur in times of inclement weather, snow removal, or natural disasters. This position reports directly to the Account Manager.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion to develop new leaders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with small- to medium-sized mowing equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn the Aspire Software system.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and allow for schedule flexibility when needed. On rare occasions, 24/7 availability may be required depending on the demands of natural disasters or snow removal operations.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and excellent personal safety record.

Job Responsibilities

  • Organizes the execution of each job and supervises and works with the Mowing Team to ensure client lawns are kept in mint condition.
  • Oversees regular mowing and maintenance, including weed and debri removal, from client lawns.
  • Checking in, checking out, and documenting team progress throughout the day on our company’s Aspire phone app.
  • Works with Mowing Team to determine potential future lawn issues and a plan to address concerns.
  • Operates small- and medium-sized equipment, including zero-turn mowers, push mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, weed-eaters, backpack sprayers, bed edgers, etc.
  • Operates automatic and stick-shift vehicles as well as commercial trucks and truck-and-trailer combinations.
  • Conducts a final inspection at each job’s completion to ensure the project was completed to Chiles Enterprise standards.
  • Completes necessary paperwork, including timesheets, work orders, change orders, material requisitions, and client service tickets, with Mowing Team’s assistance.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and efficient work-site and ensures equipment is properly maintained.

Hardscape Technician

Has to perform tasks such as: pavement systems, retaining walls, water features, low-voltage lighting, utilities, concrete, carpentry and stonework, install interlocking paver patios, install stones, wood, or segmental block retaining walls. Needs to be able to operate a variety of equipment included, but should not be limited to: back hoes, track loaders, excavators, trenchers, tillers, straw blower, chain saws, electric saws and other miscellaneous small hand tools. Hardscape Installers

Has to assist the Project Manager with constructing all assigned projects.
